It is learnt that Gujarat will host India's first offshore wind project, a 500 MW viability gap-funded (VGF) initiative located off its coast. Transmission infrastructure development will be primarily managed by Powergrid. The project is a significant step towards realizing India's offshore wind energy ambitions, aiming to reduce the cost of power and meet national renewable energy targets.
